In 2009 I won a Smeg Competition online. I had only added my email to Smeg’s mailing list online. I was given a choice of size and colour. I choose the biggest (of course!) and 50’s silver so it would always go with chrome and stainless steel.
It was delivered by Sme’gs own drivers, on time and they were so professional. They installed it and took away all the packing.
Four years later I love it more than ever. I think the 50’s diner / milk bar look never dates and it matches other vintage items I have collected.
The only faults are it does not have auto defrost and the bottle rack will not hold 2 litre water bottles. It still looks as good as new after 4 years and has never given me any problems. I would love the matching washer but last time I looked it was not available…
